26.07.17  Former Fisheries Minister Backs Angling Trust Campaign for Sustainable Fisheries Post-Brexit

In a new paper on UK sea fisheries post-Brexit the Angling Trust calls on the Government to turn Britain into a world leader in fisheries and marine conservation management by adopting best practice from around in the world and restoring fish stocks to good health.  The Trust is also calling for members of the public fishing recreationally to be given equal recognition to commercial fishermen in the development of new UK fisheries policy and in the forthcoming Fisheries Bill announced in the Queen's Speech.

25.07.17  Fisheries Enforcement Support Service and UK National Wildlife Crime Unit sign Information Sharing Agreement The Angling Trust has signed an important Information Sharing Agreement with the UK National Wildlife Crime Unit, setting out the framework and protocols for the sharing of information and intelligence in a legally compliant, secure and responsible way.

25.07.17  This Girl Can… go fishing! Fishing has joined up with This Girl Can, the celebration of active women that aims to inspire females to exercise. In recent weeks the Angling Trust's "Get Fishing" campaign has backed This Girl Can by promoting the fact that women of all ages can take part in the all-inclusive, healthy, family friendly and accessible sport of angling, from grassroots right up to elite level.

19.07.17  MPs urge parents to take kids fishing this summer With the school holidays looming and the prospect of restless youngsters looking for ways to spend their time over the long six week break, fishing enthusiast MPs from the All Party Parliamentary Angling Group have urged parents to "take your kids fishing" this summer.

13.07.17  Angling Trust backs WWF campaign for abstraction action The Angling Trust is backing a major new campaign spearheaded by WWF-UK to press government for better protection for our precious rivers from over-abstraction and sewage pollution. The Nature Needs You campaign, which is supported by around 40 individual rivers trusts, asks people to take action to help safeguard our rivers.
