Do you want to fish for England?
The Angling Trust are seeking talented anglers who would like to have trials for the England team for Anglers with Disabilities and for the England Veterans team.
The England selectors will be looking for anglers of international calibre and will be asking all attendees to fish the trials to international rules. All anglers must be experienced in fishing with bloodworm and joker. Anyone wishing to take part in the trials must have up to date individual membership of the Angling Trust which can be obtained at www.anglingtrust.net/join, or by calling 0844 7700616 (option 1).
The first trial will be held on Wednesday 12th October 2011 for the Veterans for anyone who is 60 and over on the date of the trial. The trial for the Anglers with Disabilities will be held on Saturday 22nd October 2011. Both trials are to be held on the River Nene, Middleholme, Peterborough.
Fishing will take place at 11.00pm – 3.00pm on both days and bait limits will be 2 litres of natural baits of which a maximum of ¾ litre can be bloodworm and joker.
Any angler who believes that they have the aptitude to enhance the England’s standing in International fishing further in 2012 and would like to take part in the trials please contact Sandra Drew, Competitions & Events Manager, at Angling Trust on 0115 9061 301 or email; email@example.com by no later than 7th October 2011 with contact details.
Unfortunately at the present time we have not managed to secure any form of sponsorship or funding for these teams for 2012, and if anyone is selected from the trials they must be willing to pay up to £2,000 to participate in next year’s World Championships to be held in Portugal.
