AT & BW Stillwater Championships third qualifier round 2012
23.07.12
The third qualifying match for the Angling Trust & BW Still water championship was held at Earlswood Lakes on Saturday 21st July 2012. The match was fished on Engine pool.
Just for a change it was a dry, warm day with just a light variable breeze. Lots of fish were evident before the start of the match but because of a lack of ripple on the water fishing was quite hard. Most fish fell to the pellet waggler but in some sections it was difficult to tempt them close enough in to encourage them to feed.
Top weight on the day was Lee Carver from Taverham fishing peg 26 with a weight of 56.700 kg. Lee caught elven carp with the best fish weighing about 9kg. He used pellet fished at range on both the pellet waggler and a slow sinking float.
Runner up was Wayne Colloff (Fosters) with a weight of 55.420 kg from peg 54. Wayne used a spodding waggler fishing a white boilie on the hook and had carp to 8.5 kg.
Third place went to Stephen Oppenshaw (Lingmere Fishery) on peg 23 with a weight of 54.350 kg again fishing the pellet waggler.
