14.08.17  Small roach catch earns big money chance for Colin There were 55 anglers on the latest qualifier on the River Yare and while the weights weren’t as high as normal, it made for a very close match. The river was running quite clear and most people thought that roach would be the target for a qualifying weight.

11.08.17  Kearney and Gilbert secure place in Canal Pairs Final With the build up to Division One National Championships, the Shropshire Union hosted it’s first of two Angling Trust and Canal and River Trust pairs competition which was a sell-out 100 angler field. The sections were pegged on the popular Knighton and Park Heath stretches and with some very changeable conditions forecast many at the draw thought they were in for some good fishing.

10.08.17  Long whip approach secures top spot for Peter Morris The River Soar hosted the seventh round of RiverFest qualifiers and although some decent weights were posted, it didn't fish as well as the weeks leading up to the qualifier. This was down to clear cold water going into the system the day before.

08.08.17  Slater stays the course at Stillwater Championships A prize fund of £3000 was up for grabs in the Angling Trust and Canal and River Trust Stillwater Championships Final fished at Boddington Reservoir. The noted ‘beach’ area made famous in the 90’s was the preference at the draw due to some form earlier in the week, but on the day conditions saw the wind blowing into the dam wall and all the talk at the draw was of the potential for the fish to follow the wind.

07.08.17  Paul and Damian with a 'Grand' result The fourth round of the Angling Trust and Canal and River Trust Canal Pair Championships was hosted sections on the infamous Grand Union Canal. Conditions for the day were a little tough with bright sunshine and little wind, this meant that anglers with cover found themselves able to hold onto the fish for longer.
