In recent years this section has been a float angler’s dream with large shoals of roach and dace along the majority of this stretch. Waggler, stick float and bolo, with maggot or pole and hemp will be the main lines of attack for these species. Weights in excess of 20lb are regularly recorded to these methods. There are also a lot of big perch and eels that can be caught on pole with worm on a short line. A feeder rod will also need assembling as there are a lot of big fish that may choose to feed should the river be carrying any extra water with bream. Depths vary from 5ft in the shallower pegs to 12ft in some of the deeper areas.
General Angling Trust rules
Pike do not count
Banned baits – bloodworm and joker
No wasp grub
Strictly no casting out of feeders before the match has started
