Welfare Officer Training Event

Join us for the Leading Safer Clubs Event. This exciting training event is completely online, allowing you to participate from the comfort of your own home.

We are pleased to offer support training for those who have been appointed as Welfare Officers for Angling Clubs, Fisheries and Federations.

This course is an online, classroom-based course lasting about 90 minutes. Most courses will be run early evening. They will be delivered by members of our coach education workforce and cover the following topics.

  • Roles and responsibilities
  • What makes a great welfare officer
  • Current legislation
  • Knowing your organisation
  • What to prioritise
  • Policies and procedures
  • Involving and listening to young people and members
  • How to report a concern
  • Practical scenarios

Each course will have at least 10 people taking part and a maximum of 15 people, so that you get opportunities to discuss common themes. If a course does not reach the minimum, we will allocate you to another course.

You will also need to download the ZOOM application, which is free to use, either on your computer, laptop or smartphone.
