Then the suite of fly fishing competitions administrated by the Angling Trust and run with our partners, superb volunteers and excellent fisheries are just for you, whether you fly fish the small stillwaters, rivers or reservoirs.

During the course of the year there are a whole host of competitions covering every discipline and level for those anglers wanting to try competition fishing for the first time to those anglers who aspire to fish at World and European level. England has the current World Fly Fishing Champion, Howard Croston, who took his first steps into competition fishing many years ago at youth level. This could be you!

There are a number of national championships delivered each year at senior, ladies and youth level along with several domestic fly fishing competitions for individuals or teams of three or six anglers. Follow the links below to find out more on each.

Competition fly fishing has so much to offer: the chance to learn new tactics and fish with some of the best anglers in the country, the opportunity to be with like-minded anglers fishing some of the best and beautiful fisheries across the country.
