If you are looking to secure funding to deliver an angling project then this page has a number of useful links for you to consider. Alongside the Fisheries Improvement Programme and Angling Improvement Fund, there are suggestions of other funding streams that could be accessible to your organisation and help you achieve your objective.

Get Fishing Fund

The Environment Agency and Angling Trust have announced a new £100,000 ‘Get Fishing Fund’ to encourage more people to give fishing a go for the first time or get back into angling after a break from the sport.

Fisheries Improvement Programme - This fund is now closed

Through the Fisheries Improvement Programme, the Environment Agency reinvests income received from the sale of fishing licences into projects that aim to build the infrastructure of angling in various ways.

Together Fund

As part of the We Fish As One campaign, the Angling Trust is working with Sport England and its Together Fund to help connect people from priority groups with community angling projects.

Sport England

The Sport England Small Grants Programme is now open for applications for funding. This supports people with schemes aimed at getting people more active and the money is provided through money from the National Lottery. Grants can be made for amounts from £300 - £15,000. Angling Clubs and Organisations have a vast range of great projects that help get people of all ages outdoors and active. Many help the surrounding community and protect and enhance the environment too. Don’t miss your chance to apply for this money.

British Disabled Angling Association

Support and advice may be available to clubs, fisheries and other organisations to develop opportunities for disabled people of all ages and abilities to access fishing in the UK.

Severn Trent Water’s Boost for Biodiversity Fund is now open for applications!

Successful projects are usually between £500 and £3000 and applications are open to farmers’ cooperatives, NGOs, community groups, schools, businesses and councils.
