Virtual Fisheries Forum | Introduction to Safeguarding and Welfare 2024

11 January 2024 7:00 PM - 11 January 2024 8:45 PM
Open to all

Of particular interest to angling clubs and fisheries alike – this essential Virtual Forum will provide vital information around the necessary first steps and onward guidelines concerning Safeguarding children and adults within your club or fishery.  The Angling Trust’s Richard Hadley and Stuart Sharp will be on hand to talk you through the requirements you need to have in place, including the appointment and role of a Welfare Officer and adoption of safeguarding policies, typical types of abuse that may come to your attention and the actions your club/fishery should take in the event an incident is identified or reported to you.

If your club or fishery is keen to develop and improve its take-up from or is currently interacting with younger anglers or adults at risk, then this discussion will aid you in ensuring the correct levels of safeguarding / welfare are in place.

Likewise, as an individual, you may be thinking of taking a coaching qualification – if so, this virtual forum is essential viewing, as safeguarding and welfare form a compulsory part of that process.

Fisheries Forums are free to attend and open to all, and we would encourage you to notify any fishing friends or colleagues who might find the session useful.
