Event Support Volunteer
This training is for individuals aged 16 and over who want to support Angling Trust Licensed Coaches to deliver participation session and help introduce more people to fishing through initiatives such as Get Fishing events, CAST sessions and other structured coaching events.
Event Support Volunteers help licensed coaches deliver safe, welcoming and well-organised sessions.. Volunteers may assist the coach in delivering their session plans and objectives, including assisting setting up the equipment, supporting participants during sessions, helping manage equipment and fishing areas and contributing to a positive first experience of angling.
What happens after you enrol?
Within 2 working days, you will receive enrolment emails from the Angling Trust Training Portal.
You will complete four online modules with each module unlocking the next:
- Introduction to Safeguarding Part 1 and 2
- Safe Delivery Essentials Part 1 and 2
These modules provide the core safeguarding knowledge used across many Angling Trust roles and are also the first steps of the Angling Coach pathway, meaning they will not need to be repeated if you later progress into coaching.
Course Cost: £50
Your course payment also includes the cost of your DBS check, and you will be contacted separately with guidance on completing this. £50 of the course fee will also be deducted from the cost of the Angling Coach course if you choose to progress through to this pathway. After completing the training you will receive a certificate confirming completion of the Event Support Volunteer training.
You will have access to the course for 365 days from when you receive the course enrolment email from the Angling Trust.
