Fishing magic? How’s this for a good trick!

Our Partnership Development Manager James Roche writes…

Nottingham Piscatorial Society sponsored a local school to set up a new fishing club for kids. The eight strong mini-club at North Muskham School were amazed when tuition about tackle, fish recognition and knot tying moved on to making up rigs and the incredible sight of the “disappearing PVA bag in a bowl of water” trick.

The theory was put into practice when these novices soon had their first real session with plenty of species landed. A memory which will last a lifetime, as most of us will recall the magic of our very own first fish.

Our Angling Development Officers work with clubs and kids like this to make angling easy to get into – contact them below.

The “Get Fishing” campaign is run by the Angling Trust to increase the number of people being introduced to angling across the country. Anyone interested in going fishing can find angling events at Get Fishing. The events listed are for all participants regardless of gender, age, fitness or previous angling experience.

Angling Participation and the Get Fishing campaign is supported by Environment Agency fishing licence income and helps to introduce thousands of people to fishing each year.
