Fishing can be prescribed to help physical and mental health and wellbeing issues. Get Fishing for Wellbeing Approved Partners use quality assured angling services to treat symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, depression, loneliness and many long-term conditions
One of angling’s best known administrators praised Poringland Lakes for its flagship Let’s Go Family Fishing Fun Days.
Mark Casto, also a top specialist angler who helps conserve the Broads fisheries, applauded the popular venue’s initiative to get more youngsters fishing and said: “It’s wonderful to see so many kids catching fish for the first time and the way Poringland is promoting angling in such a positive way to new recruits”.

The “Get Fishing” campaign is run by the Angling Trust to increase the number of people being introduced to angling across the country. Anyone interested in going fishing can find angling events at Get fishing near you. The events listed are for all participants regardless of gender, age, fitness or previous angling experience.
