This Girl Can: A Fishing Challenge
Fishing isn’t only a source of great excitement it can be a means of setting a personal challenge too…
Abbie Fielding sent us a This Girl Can picture of herself with a wels catfish she caught at Town Parks Fishery, Paignton this Autumn. Abbie had been after a big catfish for three years and this October, after incorporating advice from the fishery owner into her tactics she got a take from this 23lb 14oz beauty.
Abbie said: “It put up an amazing fight swimming towards the island before shooting off to the far end of the lake. This caused me huge worries as I’d lost a big ‘cat’ over a year ago after a similar turn of events.” However, Abbie took it very carefully and eventually managed to net the fish.
Abbie’s dad Alan said: “Both me and Abbie were both overjoyed as we’d set out specifically to target a catfish. Well done Abbie – she’s yet again beaten me and my work mates with the best fish this year!”
