Covid-19 Resources Hub
On 23 March 2020 the UK Government changed from offering advice and guidance to enforcing restrictions on activity to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus – in particular to reduce the impact on the NHS and protect our most vulnerable.
These restrictions are as follows:
· shopping for basic necessities, as infrequently as possible
· one form of exercise a day – for example a run, walk, or cycle – alone or with members of your household;
· any medical need, to provide care or to help a vulnerable person; and
· travelling to and from work, but only where this is absolutely necessary and cannot be done from home.
These are the only reasons you should leave your home.
What isn’t clear from the statement is whether fishing is an allowed form of exercise.
We will seek clarification from Sport England and other Government bodies to understand this detail and will update this page as soon as we know more.
Until we have further clarification, we must all do what is required of us by the Government and work together to fight this pandemic.
