NEW FIPSed WEEKEND (2023)
CONFIRMATION OF QUALIFYING PROCESS FOR FIPSed WORLD CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS (FEEDER & FLOAT)
As headlined by Angling Trust CEO, Jamie Cook, in his pre-Christmas podcast with Matt Godfrey (https://fb.watch/b0WNORGV7D/), here we confirm the launch of a “FIPSed Weekend” in 2023, along with confirmation the qualification criteria for the FIPSed World Club Championships in both Feeder and Float.
This re-enforces our commitment to further developing FIPSed level competitive angling, and the success of English coarse teams on the international stage.
QUALIFICATION FOR 2024 EVENTS
NEW FIPSed WEEKEND IN 2023
INCORPORATING THE FEEDER NATIONAL AND A NEW FLOAT NATIONAL EVENT
In 2023 we will launch a FIPS-ed weekend, to take place the weekend before the Division 1 National, and ideally on the same venue if it can accommodate it from a fishing pressure / style perspective. We expect this will be possible on next year’s Division 1 venue and planning is already underway.
Saturday Day 1 = Feeder National, fished to FIPS-ed rules. This will be the official qualifier for the FIPSed World Club Feeder Championships in 2024.
Sunday Day 2 = a NEW Float National, fished to FIPSed rules. This will be the official qualifier for the FIPSed World Club Float Championships in 2024.
Both events will be teams of 6, fished to full FIPSed rules, and be open to all teams based on Angling Trust membership. Teams may be formed of different individuals on each day.
QUALIFICATION FOR 2023 FIPSed WORLD CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS (FEEDER & FLOAT)
FEEDER – winners of the 2022 Team Feeder National.
Where FIPSed criteria allow, 2nd placed teams may also qualify (subject to FIPSed).
FLOAT – winners of the 2022 Division 1 National.
Where FIPSed criteria allow, 2nd placed teams may also qualify (subject to FIPSed).
QUALIFICATION FOR 2022 FIPSed WORLD CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS (FEEDER & FLOAT)
FEEDER – winners of the 2021 Team Feeder National, Preston Innovations Thatchers.
FIPSed has this week advised that 2nd placed teams may also qualify subject to specific criteria. We are liaising with 2nd placed team Drennan Bordon in this regard.
FLOAT – winners of the 2021 Division 1 National, Sensas Devizes.
FIPSed has advised that, in principle, 2nd placed teams may also qualify subject to specific criteria. We are awaiting details from the host nation (Belgium) and will liaise with 2nd placed team Drennan Barnsley Blacks when these criteria are confirmed.
