ENGLAND MASTERS FEEDER TEAM ASSESSMENT DAY – GET INVOLVED!
The Angling Trust is calling on the best feeder anglers over 55 years of age to apply for an assessment day for the 2024 England Masters Feeder squad.
Team manager Nigel Franks and captain Tom Pickering are looking for anglers with the right abilities to suit the 2024 competition venues – in Hungary and Belgium – and to further strengthen the team going forward.
The team will be fishing the World Masters Feeder Championship in Hungary on the rowing course in Szeged, travelling out in late September for the event on October 5-6.
Shortly afterwards, the second European Feeder Cup event will take place in Belgium and is currently scheduled for October 14-18. It will be fished on the same venue Dean Barlow’s England Feeder team won silver in 2022.
“We’re not only looking for the best feeder anglers but also those with the right characteristics to fish at world championship level and the willingness to blend in with the current team members,” explained Nigel.
“Both events are self-funded equally by all the team members so you should be aware that cost for each competition could be £1500-£2000/person. Although we do carry out some fund-raising activities which you will be expected to assist with, you will also need to have your own/share transportation.”
Due to take place in late May/early June, the location for the assessment day is yet to be set but will be fished to FIPS international feeder rules.
The qualifying age for this year’s Masters Feeder squad is 55 years or over on 31 December 2023. Prospective anglers can apply here…
The closing date for applications is Sunday April 7, 2024.
