ANGLING TRUST APPOINTS NEW ENGLAND LADIES SHORE TEAM MANAGER
Stewart Wicks has been appointed as the new Angling Trust England Ladies Shore Team Manager for the 2024 Home Nations and World Championships.
The Kent-based angler – who was previously assistant manager of the squads – will take charge of Team England Ladies for the first time in July at the SALC Home International in Montrose, Scotland.
This will be followed by a tough World Champs event in Peniscola, Spain, from November 16 to 23.
Stewart’s appointment follows the stepping down of Mark Hurcombe in February.
Angling Trust Head of Competitions and Team England, Steve Fitzpatrick, said: “Stewart brings a positive, respectful approach to the management of the squad which has faced some challenging times over the past few seasons.
“His calm and collected style, willingness to lead and learn, and his drive to give opportunities to the next generation of England anglers will ensure a solid foundation for future success is built.
“We wish him and the squad the best of luck for the two championships ahead.”
In support of Stewart, Kev Warner has been appointed as Assistant Manager for the Home International, with an assistant for the World event still being sought.
