DRENNAN ENGLAND FEEDER TEAM REVEALS 2025 WORLD CHAMPS LINE UP

Angling Trust Drennan England Feeder team manager Dean Barlow has selected a tried and trusted line up of superstar anglers for the 2025 World Feeder Championships in Lithuania this June.

World Champion Steve Ringer has been named as captain and will lead out a squad consisting of experienced internationals Will Freeman, Lee Kerry, Adam Wakelin, and Rob Wootton.

Joining them this year will be renowned feeder expert and river ace Tom Noton, who will earn his first cap with the senior side after impressing at the Euro Feeder Cup in recent seasons.

Dean will be supported by Assistant Managers Graham West and Mac Stephens, plus dedicated bait manager Scott Smith at the competition which takes place on the River Skirvyte- a huge waterway which forms the country’s border with Russia.

Nestled next to the Baltic Sea, the river is between 100m and 400m wide and up to eight metres deep in areas with a wide range of species including roach, bream, wild carp, plus vimba, perch, catfish, salmon, pike, and zander.

The match will be spread over 9km of water around the town of Skirvyte itself, it’s going to be a tough challenge for all the teams involved, but Dean is excited by the prospect of tackling it and bringing home medals.

“This is a big, fast-flowing river and will require a heavy duty approach to crack it with big feeders upwards of 200g, over 7oz, needed to hold bottom – it’s a fearsome venue,” revealed Dean.

“This will be the first feeder World Champs that Lithuania has hosted, and they have a strong, up-and-coming team which will be difficult to beat on their home water. But we’re not going over the to fish for second place.

“We’re delighted to welcome Tom to the squad, he’s one of the best river anglers in the country and his expertise on rivers like the Trent will be a huge asset.”

The journey to the event will test the anglers before they event get to the bank with a long drive over to northern German followed by a 19 hour ferry to Lithuania.

Angling Trust Head of Competitions, Steve Fitzpatrick, added: “I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Drennan International for their continued support of the Angling Trust England Feeder team and wish them all the best for 2025.”

* The Nations Feeder World Championship takes place on June 14-15, 2025.
