England U20s 2026 Assessment Day – Open for Applications!
The country’s best young anglers are being asked to apply to be part of England’s medal-winning U20 team for 2026.
Led by managers Jason Kirk and Samantha Sim, the Beechfield Headwear sponsored side has set an enviable record on the world stage over the past few years, winning gold in 2023 and 2024, and team silver in 2022 and 2025.
Added to that were four individual medals along the way too, including a gold, two silvers, and bronze.
Now YOU could be part of the ongoing success story.
Open to all anglers aged under 20 years old on December 31, 2025, we want you to apply now to be part of an assessment day at Lindholme’s Loco Lake on Sunday March 14, 2026.
This year’s U20 World Champs is taking place on the Réservoir de Monchanin, near to Dijon, France where the targets are expected to be large numbers of small catfish plus, roach, skimmers and carp.
“We’re looking for anglers who regularly compete in high-level matches and have the right attitude to work as part of a close-knit squad that’s focussed on success,” said Jason.
“The venue in France looks like it will be about speed fishing for small cats close in with the odd bonus fish – possibly skimmers and carp – at longer range. At the assessment day I want to see the anglers concentrate on a 5m to 6m line and also at 13m and will be watching for those who can fish effectively and efficiently.”

The U20 World Championships takes place in France from August 3 to 8, 2026.
Deadline for all applications is Friday February 20, 2026.
