Angling Trust to Launch England U25 Feeder Team for 2026 World Champs
The Angling Trust Competitions team are on the hunt for the country’s best young feeder anglers and an experienced management team to represent England at the FIPS-ed U25 Feeder World Championships in Portugal this October – could you be part of it?
We’re looking to recruit an experienced international team manager, tactical coach, and five anglers between 18 and 25 years old to form the squad which will fish in the big event on October 8, 9, and 10, 2026.
The Championships will run alongside the Masters Feeder event on the massive Motargil Dam, around 70 miles north east of Lisbon.
We want all interested anglers to get involved by sending in their application now.
As with all our medal-winning England squad, the management team will be selected via an interview process with the best angler applicants then invited to be part of assessment and coaching days over the next few months.
“This is an opportunity for young anglers to enjoy an amazing experience but could also put them on the pathway to our senior England Feeder teams,” said Steve Fitzpatrick, Angling Trust Head of Competitions & Team England.
“In terms of management, we’re looking for strong leadership skills, tactics knowledge, and years of experience in international competition angling whether through previous work with England teams or at club level.
“We’re keen to find the right manager who will commit to steering the team through the next three events in Portugal, South Africa in 2027, and Ireland in 2028.”
