Spring into Fishing 2026

Get out on the bank this Spring

Spring is here, the days are longer, and it’s the perfect time to get outside and GET FISHING. Whether you’re completely new to angling or one of the many anglers who hang up the rods for winter and are now dusting them off for the new season, Spring into Fishing events are the ideal way to get started.

These free or low cost, friendly beginner sessions are designed for families, newcomers, and anyone wanting to refresh their skills after a winter break. Everything you need is provided — tackle, bait, and plenty of support from welcoming volunteers who’ll help you catch your first fish or get back into the swing of things.

Perfect for:

  • First‑timers who want to try fishing in a safe, relaxed setting.
  • Families looking for a fun outdoor activity.
  • Anglers returning after winter who want to brush up on the basics.
  • Anyone wanting to learn the basics or more advanced techniques whether for coarse, game or sea fish.

Why give it a go?

Fishing is accessible, inexpensive, and great for your wellbeing. Being by the water helps reduce stress, boosts mood, and gets you outdoors in nature. It’s also a brilliant way to spend time together, build confidence, and learn a skill you can enjoy for life.

What to bring

Just dress for the weather and bring a drink. All tackle and bait are supplied, and licensed coaches will guide you through everything you need to know.

Who runs it?

Spring into Fishing is delivered by the Angling Trust with support from licensed coaches, funded by the Environment Agency and Sport England. Events follow best‑practice guidance to ensure they’re safe, inclusive, and welcoming for everyone.
