Dusan Kovacik
Nenescape Building Bridges Officer
Slovakian-born Dusan Kovacik, a Nenescape Building Bridges Officer, started fishing with his father when he was 4 years old, catching many different species of fish and learning many different methods, gaining all-round angling experience as he grew up and visited different countries around the world. These days Dusan enjoys carp and fly fishing – taking part in carp competitions is a big part of Dusan’s angling life and his personal best Mirror Carp is 34lb.
After joining the team in 2018, Dusan said: “The Building Bridges Project is a great way to help migrant communities get together and integrate with each other through fishing. Education is also very important as access to the correct information is vital for migrant anglers.
“I want to help instigate change and give something back to the great sport of angling, the Building Bridges Project is a perfect opportunity for me to share my experience and help give the right education to the younger generation of future anglers.”
