Kerry crushes RiverFest qualifier on Weaver
The River Weaver hosted the third round of RiverFest qualification and with the river holding good summertime flow, a few bigger weights were expected. Lee Kerry certainly didn’t disappoint from peg 2 on White Hulses Island and put together an impressive 46lb 15oz and 12drams of river bream, which he took on groundbait feeder at 30m on worm hookbaits.
Kevin Hall took second spot in the match with 25lb 7oz from the Red Dredger section, peg 3. Kevin caught some early eels on the pole and followed this up with some chunky slabs on the tip.
Chris Greensides took the third qualification spot from the Blue Oak Tree section on peg 18, with 5lb 14oz 8 drams. Chris caught small roach on pinkies over groundbait at 9 meters.
Our thanks to Mike Scott for organising a very well run qualifier.
