WOMEN’S AND ANGLERS WITH DISABILITES NATIONALS CONFIRMED FOR 2024

Following on from two superb National Championships at the weekend, the Angling Trust can confirm the venue and date for the 2024 Ladies and Anglers with Disabilities Nationals.

Next year will also see a name change to bring the Angling Trust in line with the World match angling governing bodies and our own England teams so will be called the Women’s National from 2024 onwards.

Both matches will take place on Saturday July 6, 2024, at Marston Fields Fishery, Sutton Coldfield, one of the most popular day ticket and match waters in the Midlands.

The Women’s National will see anglers take on the complex’s Oak, Willow, Elm, and Laurels lake with 80 pegs booked to cope with the increased numbers the event has been enjoying over the past few years.

It will be the popular Sycamore lake which will play host to the Anglers with Disabilities champs with 40 pegs available for the match.

“There were a lot of anglers already excited for next year at the end of this year’s events, with many wanting to plan early, so it made complete sense to reveal the dates as soon as they were confirmed,” said Steve Fitzpatrick, Angling Trust Head of Competitions.

“Both Nationals are growing in size, and we need to secure venues which can not only cope with the number of quality pegs needed, but also the facilities required to host the prestigious matches.

“Marston Fields may be a new fishery but it’s one that has very quickly established itself as a quality match venue. While we appreciated all the positive feedback from the weekend just gone, we want to ensure next year is even better for all anglers and we can’t wait for the two events!”

* Tickets for both events will go on sale in early 2024 on the Angling Trust Competitions website.
