ANGLING TRUST TO LAUNCH ENGLAND U22 CARP TEAM FOR 2025 WORLD CHAMPS

The Angling Trust is launching an England U22 Carp squad to compete in the 2025 World Youth Carp Championships – could you be part of it?

We’re looking to recruit an experienced team manager, tactical coach, and up to eight anglers between 18 and 22 years old to form the squad which will fish in Italy next summer.

The U22 World Carp Championships is a new event in world angling. The inaugural competition took place in Latvia in July and saw five nations compete in a 72-hour match which ran alongside the Ladies World Carp Championships.

Following a successful event it is to become a permanent fixture in FIPSed’s international calendar.

So, the work starts now! We want all budding young carpers to get involved by sending in their application now. As with our medal-winning coarse, sea, and game teams, the Angling Trust will select the best anglers to be part of assessment and coaching days due to take place over the next few months and into Spring where the squad will be selected for Italy.

* To be part of the squad (open to anglers between 18 and 22 years old on December 31, 2024) send your carp angling CV along with a covering letter to [email protected] marking the subject line as ENGLAND U22 CARP SQUAD.

* To apply for the manager/coach roles please send your CV along with a covering letter of no more than 500 words about why you would be perfect for the roles to [email protected] marking the subject line as ENGLAND U22 CARP MANAGER/COACH.

Currently, the management and anglers will all need to be self-funded although work is already underway to secure sponsors for the squad.

Deadline for all entries is Friday September 27, 2024.
