Angling Trust Sea League Roll of Honour

TOMMY DOES THE DOUBLE AT ANGLING TRUST SEA LEAGUE FINAL

Local hero Tommy Wells is the 2025-26 Angling Trust Sea League Final champion following a dogfish dominant performance on the beach at Hythe, in Kent.
The Deal-based angler followed his Final win at Silloth in 2025 with a dream double in a hard-fought contest on the beach in front of Princes Parade.
This special event – sponsored by Anyfish Anywhere and Asso – saw 46 top anglers from the 2025 Sea League competition invited to go head to head in a one-day showdown at the famous Kent mark.
This year’s final featured a line up which included World and Home Nations internationals, several former champions, and a host of local anglers.
And it was local lad Tommy who recorded an impressive 1,316 point score from his 36 fish in Zone B to seal victory and claim the £1,000 top prize.
Tommy’s winning score came courtesy of a run of triple shots of dogfish on a day where the bonus fish became the main targets over predicted numbers of whiting.
This was just too good for Zone A winner Shaun Tucker who finished on 1,099 points from his 26 fish with Zone C winner Henry Randell enjoying an end peg and finishing the day with 1,029 points and third place.
Saul Page, who claimed a record breaking fifth Sea League title on the bounce in December – his sixth in total – suffered a slow start to match in a poor area, but battled on to finish with second in Zone B on 1,102 points for his 28 fish total, again finding dogs at long range.
The 2025 Sea League ran from January to December and saw over 18,600 anglers take part in 376 accredited matches all over the country, with over 800 scoring League points.
* The Angling Trust would like to thank all the anglers and match organisers who take part in the competition, Sea League national organiser Ian Bowell, sponsors Richard Yates and Julian Shambrook, and the Fountain Inn for hosting the draw and presentation.
