British Carp Angling Championships

Following our announcement that the Angling Trust has joined forces with the British Carp Angling Championships to secure the long-term future of the competition, we can now reveal the venues set to host the big event in 2026.

There will be nine qualifiers this time, ranging from events for 12 Pairs to 24 Pairs and taking in some of the most popular venues in the competition’s history.

Qualifiers kick off in March and run through to early July with Linear’s Oxlease, Norton Disney, Willow Park, Barston Lakes, Naseby Reservoir, Hardwick Smiths, Orchard Place Farm, and Berners Hall all hosting events.

The qualifiers will lead you to one of three semi-finals in July, one at Norton Disney’s Turner’s Lake and two more at Barston Lakes.

The grand final once again hosted at the superb Broadlands Lakes Fishery, in Hants, in early August.

Tickets for the Qualifiers will go on sale on Friday October 31 at 12 noon on a first come, first served basis.

Prices will remain the same as previous season at £500 per Pair, but Angling Trust Members will be able to enjoy a reduction of £100 on the ticket prices if both anglers are members.

Each qualifier will be split into sections of four Pairs. The sections will be based on the first four best pegs as Section A, the second best four peg as Section B, and the third best four pegs as Section C etc.

Based on a full sell out of tickets, the qualifier/number of sections breakdown is as follows:

  • Qualifiers of 12 Pairs = 3 sections = 3 Pairs go through to Semi Finals
  • Qualifiers of 16 Pairs = 4 sections = 4 Pairs go through to Semi Finals
  • Qualifiers of 24 Pairs = 6 sections = 6 Pairs go through to Semi Finals

The winner of each Section will qualify for one of three semi-finals; therefore 36 Pairs will win through to the semi-final stage.

The Pairs who qualify will have any future Qualifier tickets refunded to them and these will be offered to anglers on first come, first served basis. All tickets which become available will be announced on the Angling Trust Competitions Facebook page.

Twelve Pairs will compete in each of the Semis, with three section-winning Pairs and the best section second weight from each semi progressing to the BCAC Final.

Hosted at the fabulous Broadlands Lakes, the Final will see 12 Pairs battle it out over 48 hours for the prestigious title and a prize pot of £16,000.

“This is a hugely exciting time for the Angling Trust and British Carp Angling Championships,” said Steve Fitzpatrick, Angling Trust Head of Competitions & Team England.

“I’d like to thank all the fisheries who have gone out of their way to support the competition and become host waters for the 2026 event at such short notice, and we look forward to seeing the country’s best carp anglers go head-to-head on your waters in what promises to be an amazing event.”
