Atlantic Bluefin Tuna Recreational Fishery Training for Participants
Atlantic Bluefin Tuna Catch-and-Release Recreational Fishery Training for Participants (2026 Provisional Permit Holders Only)
This training is for individuals who have been issued a provisional permit offer by the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) as part of the Atlantic Bluefin Tuna Catch-and-Release Recreational Fishery (CRRF). This includes the vessel master(s) and any other individuals named in the permit application as requiring training.
All identified individuals must complete this mandatory BFT training, which includes both online learning and an in-person training event. The training is mandatory for participation in the fishery and ensures anglers understand the standards expected for safety, fish welfare and regulatory compliance within the catch-and-release recreational fishery for Atlantic Bluefin Tuna in English waters.
This page is publicly accessible, however the training is only available to provisional CRRF permit holders and specific authorised roles. All bookings will be verified against the provisional permit list provided to the Angling Trust by the MMO before access to the training is granted.
The Angling Trust are not involved in allocating permits and completion of this training does not guarantee permit issuance, which remains the responsibility of the MMO as the regulator for the fishery.
