Living Heritage Country Fairs host our “Have a Go” angling sessions – come for a free twenty minute angling lesson with one of our qualified coaches.
Since starting our “Have a Go” sessions at these shows thousands of visitors have taken part and many have gone on to become really keen anglers – they come back each year for more fishing fun at the fairs!
Come and try fishing at this quality assured angling event and get into angling.
It’s a great way to get the whole family out there doing something different and will show kids new skills to learn in the outdoors. Angling Trust volunteer coaches are on hand to teach and demonstrate the skills and techniques of coarse fishing, with FREE lessons for all ages. Come along and have a go…
Everything you need to catch your first fish or learn more about angling is provided and our friendly volunteers will make you really welcome.

Booking: None required – just turn up, sign-in and get fishing!
Cost: Ticket entry to the show but once inside all Angling Trust fishing activity is FREE

Perfect for: Families of all ages and experience levels – complete newcomers very welcome! Parents and grandparents – just bring the kids along and have a go yourself – it doesn’t matter if you are an experienced angler yourself or a complete beginner – come and get fishing!
What happens on the day: The angling activities on offer are designed to encourage adults, children and young people to discover what angling is all about and take up angling. You’ll find out how to use fishing tackle and bait to catch fish and return them safely. Volunteers overseeing the event will also provide you with more info about your local club or fishery so you know how to go fishing again next time. Even at shows without water you can still practice angling skills and techniques in the fishing area.
Tackle & bait: Provided – just come along – no need to bring anything!
Disability information: Our volunteers are provided with essential best practice guidance on working with and planning events for disabled people. Please check with the venue contact for specific details of facilities available.
