Leading Safer Events 02
We are pleased to offer new Safeguarding training provision for existing Lead Coaches seeking to renew this element so as to keep their Level 2 Licensed Coach membership current and compliant.
- The next course will be taking place on Thursday 19th September 2024, 6pm – 9pm
This is a tutor-led classroom-based online course lasting 3 hours. The cost is £15.
- This course offers angling-specific Safeguarding and Protecting Children training for those who are renewing or updating their Coaching Licence as part of the requirement protocols.
- This training is now part of the new Level 2 Angling Event Lead Coach course and is contextual safeguarding around leading safer events. It covers a much broader range of subjects to ensure that your events follow current safeguarding practice for children, young people and adults at risk.
- This training is valid for 3 years.
Coaches still have the option of taking one of UK Coaching’s Safeguarding & Protecting Children renewal options if they prefer, or if this training is not available at a suitable time and date for them.
Most courses will be run in the early evening. They will be delivered by members of our coach education workforce and will cover the following topics:
- Roles and responsibilities
- Current legislation
- Knowing your organisation
- What to prioritise
- Policies and procedures
- Involving and listening to young people and members
- How to report a concern
- Practical scenarios
Each course will have a maximum of 10 people taking part so that you get opportunities to discuss common themes. If a course does not reach the minimum number required, we will allocate you to another course.
How to enter
You will need to download the ZOOM application (which is free to use) either on your computer, laptop or smartphone.
Booking via the online facility secures your place on the Zoom session for the displayed date. The tutor will email your Zoom link: please read any instructions sent in good time before the course and check your spam folders!
Booking closes at 9.00 am on 18th September 2024 or when all places are taken. The cost of the course is £15 per person.
