Let’s Fish with the Canal & River Trust at The Regional Celebration – Lancashire, WA10 1FY
You have perhaps attended some of the Canal & River Trust’s Let’s Fish introductory events or maybe you already fish with friends or family, if so this event is ideal for you. You will need to bring your own fishing equipment and bait and obtain an Environment Agency rod licence in advance if you are 13 or over. Help and support will be available from our Let’s Fish coaches.
About this Event: This is ideal preparation for the National Celebration of Young People and Fishing and for anyone who would like to represent a country in the Global Communities Celebration event on Saturday 21st October 2023. For more details please click on the registration link below.
Registration: Please book one ticket per participant in the correct category, ensuring that the ticket is in the correct name of the actual participant who intends to fish. Multiple bookings using the same participant name will not be accepted. On the day, you must arrive at 8.45am, when the allocation of fishing positions will take place.
Cost: Sessions are completely free and are aimed at any young person aged 7 or over who has been fishing a few times and is keen to learn more.
However, if you have booked on, subsequently fail to cancel and simply don’t show up on the day, you are liable to be invoiced for the standard £50.00 administration fee, chargeable for each ticket booked.
Therefore, if your circumstances do suddenly change and you find you are no longer able to attend, you must cancel using one of these three mechanisms:
• 1 The preferred method is via the Eventbrite ticket booking system using the link that you can find on your ticket. This can be found at the bottom of your ticket and has a link directly to “cancel my ticket”.
• 2 By email [email protected] giving details of date, time, venue and participants in your email message. Don’t email if within than 48 hours of the event, instead please use option 1 above or in an emergency 3 below.
• 3 In the event of an unforeseen emergency within 48 hours of the event, by telephoning the lead coach named in your final reminder email which will have been sent to you approximately 48 hours before the commencement of event.
We ask for your co-operation in this matter. This will allow others who would otherwise have regrettably missed out due to lack of space, the opportunity to attend this event.
Covid-19 Guidelines: If you have Covid-19 symptoms, please do not attend. Walk-ons will not be accepted. If you can no longer attend, please cancel your ticket via Eventbrite or please get in touch with the Canal & River Trust to allow another budding angler a chance to take part. Appropriate distancing measures will be in place and any equipment requiring cleaning will be cleaned in between sessions. Please see latest Government guidelines here.
About these events:
The Angling Trust’s ‘Get Fishing’ campaign is proudly supported by
Shakespeare, Exclusive Tackle Partner and Angling Direct, Exclusive Retail Partner
as we all work towards getting more people fishing, more often.
The Get Fishing campaign to get more people fishing more often is funded by the Environment Agency from fishing licence income as part of the National Angling Strategic Services contract with the Angling Trust, and Sport England. Children under 13 do not need a licence, and licences for children aged between 13 and 16 are free but you still need to register and receive a licence in order to go fishing. You can get a licence for the full year, for 8 days (ideal for holidays!) or just a day’s fishing.
NOTE: Although young children who are under 13 year old do not need a licence to fish, the person supervising them needs the proper fishing licence to take hold of the rod or to help the child fish with it.
