The Ultimate Carp Social 2025

It’s back for 2025!

Offered in association once again with Reading and District Angling Association.

Take part to win exclusive access to the renowned ‘Junction 12’ carp lake for 48 hours accompanied by 4 legends of carp angling.

As in 2023 and 2024, Terry Hearn, Oz Holness, Tom Stokes and Nick Helleur have generously donated their time to give 4 lucky winners the ultimate carp session.

The 4 prize winners will have exclusive access to Reading and District Angling Association’s Junction 12 carp lake on Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd June 2025. The 15 acre lake is reported to hold up to 500 carp with 12 different known 40lb+ fish present.

In addition, our winners will enjoy homemade stew by the bank on the Friday and a social BBQ on the Saturday courtesy of Reading and District Angling Association. These are great opportunities for everyone to get together, meet one another and ask questions of the other anglers.

Tickets for a chance to win are just £2 – simply check out the details of prizes below and decide which legend you would like to fish with!  All proceeds from the draw will be used to continue our work to protect, promote and develop angling.

Tickets for the Ultimate Carp Social 2025 are on sale from 10am on Monday 28th April to 8pm on Sunday 25th May 2025.  The draw to select our 4 lucky winners will take place on Monday 26th May 2025.  As with previous Prize Draws, over 75% of all proceeds, (after costs relating to transaction fees, promotion, advertising and design costs are deducted), are ploughed back into the Angling Trust to support our work. Once again, no costs have been incurred on prizes, all are generously donated by our ambassadors and supporters.

Terry Hearn Prize

Terry is a carp-angling phenomenon who needs no introduction. He is probably the best big carp hunter the UK has ever seen. Terry has been a longstanding ambassador of the Angling Trust and has a deep passion for the environment and the connection angling provides to nature. His ESP fireside films have become events in the calendar to savour and as a storyteller Tel is up there with the very best. Our Terry Hearn prize winner is guaranteed a unique experience and to have a fantastic time learning from the master of his craft.

Oz Holness Prize

Oz has caught many of the country’s most iconic carp including Two-tone and the Burghfield Common. Oz documented some of his stories in his excellent book “Forces of Nature” and is the focus of a number of social media films with Sticky Baits, Thinking Anglers and Cypography. Oz is a brilliant teacher, he explains how he approaches his sessions and has become extremely adept at helping other anglers to improve their fishing and make those changes that put more carp on the bank. Having fished the lakes in the area for over a decade Oz is one of the most effective big carp catchers around and will certainly put one lucky winner in with the chance of catching some very big carp.

Tom Stokes Prize

Tom is an inspirational angler whose enthusiasm is infectious. Tom has caught some phenomenal fish from a variety of waters including three different highly sought after 50lb + UK common carp in recent years. Tom has embedded himself alongside the successful anglers within the Korda stable and has added to his UK success with some incredible fish from the continent. Tom’s recent Korda Mindset film documents his spring fishing on Stoneacres and shows just why he has been so successful. One very lucky winner will have the opportunity to partner one of the nicest guys in fishing for 48 hours – make sure you pack your scales and sling and charge up your camera batteries as Tom knows how to catch them!

Nick Helleur Prize

Nick is simply one of the best big carp anglers of his generation. With an incredible album of big carp, Nick has caught from an enormous variety of venues both at home and abroad. His capture of a stunning 50lb+ river Thames linear was testament to his pioneering attitude to fishing and his recent Stickybaits film on his exploits at Virginia Water showcases why we as anglers have a unique connection with nature and the environment. Nick is known for his straight talking and quick wit and one extremely lucky winner will have the opportunity to fish with him for 48 hours on a lake where he has a good deal of experience.
