This Girl Can be a Fishing Mum!
In the last couple of years Fishing Mum has become something of a Twitter phenomenon! The account tells the daily story of Fishing Mum and her son’s adventures in angling. The highs, the lows – it’s all there… Here Fishing Mum explains how fishing is a great escape for her and helps her get out and active in nature:
I’m super proud to back the latest phase of This Girl Can’s campaign in 2018. It’s something that’s very close to my heart, and as a single independent mother I believe we can do absolutely anything we set our minds to.
Just over 2 years ago if you would have asked me to go fishing you would have got a big no! My son has always been into fishing and went with all the men in the family whilst I’ve sat at home waiting for his return. Anyway in 2016 this all changed… we went fishing together and have never looked back since!
My life changed dramatically, one day I just woke up and thought wow, life is far too short to sit around and waste precious time. This year I’ve purchased my very first home, Logan and I have travelled the world together visiting 5 of the 7 continents! So yes… life’s good and this girl really can!
Fishing is a massive escape for me. Time to be quiet, reflect on life, plan new ventures and spend quality time with my boy… its priceless and catching the fish is actually just a bonus! Getting on the bank is not only mentally beneficial but also gets you active. We are all guilty of spending hours on the sofa in front of the TV… I don’t want this for myself, or my son.
Fishing gets you up and out engaging in real life, making new friends and soaking up everything nature has to offer.
