Angling Trust partners with Swimbooker to create online events booking platform

Swimbooker Ltd has today announced a strategic partnership with Angling Trust to develop an industry-first events booking platform. This groundbreaking project aims to deliver a comprehensive, easy-to-use platform for coaches and organisers to effectively manage and promote their events online.

The need for this initiative was inspired by the growing necessity to digitise operations and streamline processes, making event management more efficient and accessible.Compliance for events nationwide is challenging to manage with a huge number of local and national delivery partners and coaches. This new system will ensure that certain standards and requirements are met before fishing events can be created, fostering a safer and more regulated environment for angling activities and a single location for parents, families and returning anglers to search for accredited events nationwide.

This marks the first time the angling industry will have an all-in-one online solution tailored to its specific needs.

Key problems solved by the platform include:

  • Operational Efficiency: Eliminates the need for paper-based/local processes, enabling seamless digital operations.
  • Effective Oversight: Provides detailed insights into participation patterns and opportunities, drives best practice and ensures compliance nationwide.
  • Safer Environment: Establishes standardised procedures, enhancing the safety and management of angling events across the UK.
  • Long Term Anglers; Centralises communication with new and returning anglers to promote a regular angling habit and supports clubs, fisheries and coaches to link with new anglers.

The product is set to launch in 2025, with additional details to be shared in the coming months.
Swimbooker, the party responsible for delivering the product, has a core ethos of leveraging innovative technology to make angling more accessible and foster growth within the sport.

The company’s existing platform already supports hundreds of fisheries and clubs in managing their businesses effectively, and this partnership represents a natural extension of their mission.

Alfie Tilley, co-founder of Swimbooker, said: “We are excited to take this next step and deliver a comprehensive product for the events management sector in angling. This builds upon our existing technology platform, which at its core is easy to use, scalable, and supports growth in the angling market. By working with the Angling Trust to bring this product online, we hope to further make angling more accessible and engage the next generation of anglers to partake in the sport we all love.”

Jamie Cook, CEO of Angling Trust, said: “Angling Trust have done a huge amount to grow new angler numbers and a 24% increase in junior licence sales suggests we are going in the right direction. This innovative events platform will benefit the community clubs, coaches and fisheries who deliver the nationally recognised Get Fishing Awards and this will allow us to introduce better frameworks and exciting new programmes to support in delivering and promoting accredited, quality angling events for all.

“Welfare and safety are paramount in event delivery, this new platform will ensure standards are maintained and that anglers, parents and families can access accredited events across the country with confidence, matching up the desire created though our brilliant Reel Education programme and wider promotion of fishing with the community partners who can support new anglers to become regular participants.”
