Matt makes first Fish’O final
Woodland Lakes in Thirsk hosted the fifth round of Fish’O’Mania on another 100-peg sell-out qualifier. There were some unsettled conditions in the morning, however the skies cleared, and resident carp made their way into the warmer water.
It was Matrix Leigh Tackles, Matthew Higgins who tore apart the opposition on the day from fancied peg 37 on Partridge. Matt worked hard down his long margin, fishing 14.5m and 6mm hard pellet to take carp to 10lb. After his margin dried up, Matt mugged the rest of his fish shallow for an impressive 149lb 7oz.
It was that man again Anthony Coates who took second position after doing the same on Wednesday! Having drawn peg 16 on Skylark, Ant focused most of his attention on mugging the lakes bigger residents shallow and ended on 117lb 12oz.
Rounding out the top three was Ryan Bennett who started the match taking two nice carp on the method, this soon dried up and he was forced to make up the rest of his 88lb 10oz mugging fish off the surface.
Our thanks to Craig Kent and all the staff at Woodlands Lakes for hosting a cracking qualifier along with David Kent from the Angling Trust. Further thanks to all the anglers who continue to uphold all the social distance criteria.
Our next qualifier is another SELLOUT at Partridge Lakes and anglers are reminded to check the New procedures if they haven’t done so already and pay for their pools on the Online Booking Site.
