CARP TEAM ENGLAND LADIES | WORLD CHAMPS SQUAD REVEALED
England Ladies Carp Team Manager Adam Dowd has selected an experienced and talent packed-squad for this year’s World Championship in Latvia, following a trial at Barston Lakes.
The squad, which remains largely unchanged from France last year, will have their eyes set on gold after a fifth place finish on the challenging Lac de Pannecière back in September. With longstanding squad member Theresa Biggs unable to attend in 2024, Nikki Gordon steps in.
“Nikki brings a wealth of knowledge and is a brilliant addition to the squad,” said Adam. “While Theresa can’t make this year’s World Championship, she’ll still play an active role in the squad and will continue to be involved for Home International events.”
Taking place on the vast 180-hectare Lake Balote in Kūku Parish, Latvia, the team go into this anticipating distance work to be key, with large numbers of newly stocked fish from 10-15lb the main target. The lake also holds fish into the low 40lb bracket, making for an exciting competition ahead.
“While this isn’t a venue we’ve fished before, the team and I will be off for a look in June to get a better idea of tactics,” said Adam. The competition will take place between the 9th and 13th of July 2024.
