Team England Fly Fishing on the Hunt for Medals in Bosnia
30th Fips-Mouche European Fly Fishing Championships
MOSTAR BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA 2026

Team Manager Mark Withyman has reported that Team England Fly Fishing has arrived in Bosnia & Herzegovina ahead of the 30th FIPS-Mouche European Fly Fishing Championships, where Europe’s finest competitive fly anglers will compete across some of the continent’s most renowned trout and grayling waters.
Hosted in the Mostar and Livno regions from 22–28 June, the championship will bring together teams from across Europe to contest five sessions on a combination of river and lake venues, including the famous Buna and Sturba river systems and Mostar Lake.
Representing England at this prestigious championship is a squad committed to continuing the proud tradition of Team England Fly Fishing on the international stage. Following months of preparation, practice, and domestic competition, the team arrives confident and eager to test itself against Europe’s best.
Team Manager Mark Withyman said: “Competing for England at a European Championship is always a tremendous honour. The team has worked exceptionally hard in preparation for this event, and everyone is looking forward to the challenge ahead. The venues are outstanding and will demand a wide range of skills, tactical awareness, and consistency across every session. The standard of international fly fishing continues to rise each year, but we believe our anglers are well prepared and ready to give their very best for England.”
The championship marks the 30th edition of the FIPS-Mouche European Fly Fishing Championships and is the first time the event has been staged in Bosnia & Herzegovina. Competitors will fish a mix of technical river sectors and Stillwater venues, targeting wild salmonid species under FIPS-Mouche international competition rules.
Team England will be aiming to build on its strong international reputation and deliver performances that reflect the dedication, skill, and professionalism of the anglers, management, and support staff involved in the programme.
Throughout the week, supporters can follow Team England’s progress via official Team England Fly Fishing and Angling Trust channels, where daily updates, results, and photographs will be published.
Everyone associated with Team England Fly Fishing would like to thank its sponsors, supporters, volunteers, and the Angling Trust for their continued backing.
