David Kent – Lifetime Honorary Vice President, Angling Trust
I first went fishing at 9 years of age and caught a gudgeon. I soon joined the club with which I have just recently clocked up 42 years as Secretary . From quite early on I began to understand and appreciate the role of the then national body and quite quickly became involved in its East Midlands region eventually becoming Secretary. My move up to national level soon followed. The fact that I have now been a national officer for 36 years firstly with the National Federation of Anglers and, since 2009, with Angling Trust clearly demonstrates my firm belief that a strong, national body representing all disciplines of the sport is absolutely essential.
In an ever-changing world where so many things can and do impact on the sport we all love it goes without saying that every angler really ought to join Angling Trust to help ensure that it always has the expertise and resources it needs to get the job done.
