Funding

If you are looking to secure funding to deliver an angling project then this page has a number of useful links for you to consider.

The Environment Agency reinvests income from the sale of fishing licences to support FIP/AIF/GFF projects.

Alongside the Fisheries Improvement Programme and Angling Improvement Fund, there are suggestions of other funding streams that could be accessible to your organisation and help you achieve your objective.

Angling Improvement Fund - Bio security and Non-native invasive species

This fund is now closed and will reopen in 2025. Funding is provided to clubs and fisheries to manage the impacts of INNS and implement measures to prevent the introduction of diseases and INNS.

Fisheries Improvement Programme

This fund is provisionally scheduled to open at 9am on 16th December 2024 and will close at 5pm on 14th February 2025. Funding is provided to clubs and fisheries to improve habitat, address climate change and provide infrastructure for anglers.

Get Fishing | Get Fishing 2

Get Fishing Fund

This fund is scheduled to open at 9am on 4th November and will close at 5pm on 6th December 2024. Funding is provided to clubs, fisheries and any organisation involved in running angling participation events for new and returning anglers.

Angling Improvement Fund - Predation

This fund is provisionally scheduled to open at 9am on 1st April and will close at 5pm on 16th May 2025. Funding is provided to clubs and fisheries to tackle the effect of predation at their venues from mammals and fish eating birds.

Sport England

The Sport England Small Grants Programme is currently closed. This supports people with schemes aimed at getting people more active and the money is provided through money from the National Lottery. Grants can be made for amounts from £300 - £15,000. Angling Clubs and Organisations have a vast range of great projects that help get people of all ages outdoors and active. Many help the surrounding community and protect and enhance the environment too.

British Disabled Angling Association

Support and advice may be available to clubs, fisheries and other organisations to develop opportunities for disabled people of all ages and abilities to access fishing in the UK.
