FOURTEEN SIDES ALREADY THROUGH TO SUPERCUP ROUND 2!
With almost half of the 30 first round ties in the Angling Trust Ringerbaits Supercup 2025 fished, it’s time for the first batch of results to be released – and to see who has made it through to the second round!
Over 60 teams entered earlier in the year and following the live draw in the spring, they’ve had until the end of June to fish their match. Many though, have decided to get done early on fisheries across the country.
Some names will be familiar from the previous incarnation of the Supercup, the likes of Team Martin, Apollo Angling and JVAC all having fished finals before. Some have even lifted the trophy in the past, namely Ridgemere AC and double champions Stainforth Angling Centre!
The Stainforth lads were up against familiar foes, away to Doncaster Fishing Centre at Bank End Fishery, but they made short work of the job, winning all five sections. For Ridgemere, a four section to one win at home to Bonehill Mill got them past the post.
Welsh side White Springs made the long journey across the Severn Bridge to the West Country pay off with a narrow win against Bath Spartans, the tie between Bells of Peover and Midlands Blankers being equally tight at Izaak Walton Fishery, a single point seeing the Bells lads into round two.
A couple of teams have entered multiple sides into the event, and the two Apollo Angling and Twin Lakes squads have made it through. The Apollo Pinks won easily against Wylands, while the Blacks won with a walkover as their opposition couldn’t field a side. For Twin Lakes, the Catch 22 team, away to ROACH, won four sections for victory, the Silvers side also being away to Queen’s Works, just the one point being enough to send them through.
