NATIONAL GLORY FOR RAMMY AT LINDHOLME
It was quite a day to remember for Team Rammy at this year’s Angling Trust Cadet and Junior Nationals, after their Red teams in both categories ended up claiming the gold medals!
Rammy are a club that have tasted plenty of success in these events in recent years and that continued in abundance at Drennan Lindholme Leisure Lakes, with not only those team medals, but also individual honours for several members into the bargain.
On the Cadet front, Rammy totalled a fine 10-point score from their six anglers, ending the day four clear of silver medallists Angling All-Stars Maver/Ringer Baits Academy, the bronze medals being claimed by Team Rammy White on 14 points but with a lower aggregate weight than the runners-up.

Leading the champions home with section wins on the Bonsai Lake were Louie Diggle, Lucas Bland and Henry Dean. Ably backing them up were Brodie Bell and Chloe Ballan with seconds and William Phillips with a third.
It could almost have been a win double too, as Louie took second spot overall and Lucas third. Nobody though, could topple Angling All-Stars Maver/Ringer Baits academy hot shot Charlie Hutchinson. He took the gold with a 32-475 bag of mainly F1s from peg 35 in B section, Louie replying with 29-475 off peg A28 and Lucas taking 27-775 from peg D60.

The Juniors were faced with three lakes to tackle – Loco, Benny’s and Willows – but it made no difference to Rammy Red, their six anglers posting a 16-point score for the golds, six ahead of Sensas Future Networks Juniors, with Worksop DAA/North Notts Angling Juniors Red taking well-earned bronze medals with 30 points.

Earning section winners medals for the Reds were Richie Jarvis and Charlie Aspin, Billy Langley and Henry Woods scoring seconds, Eathan Wexler a fourth and Kacie Chadwich a sixth. On the individual front, Rammy again featured in the frame with Richie taking third overall with 47-275 from peg D26 on the Loco Lake.
That was behind a very close battle for the top spot between Reel Rod Squad Green’s LJ Stroud and Angling All-Stars Maver/Ringer Baits Acadmey Green’s Rocco Footitt. Both anglers were on the fancied Benny’s Lake, Rocco at peg 51 in B section and LJ peg 28 in A section. It was Rocco who got the nod, fishing shallow for a net of big F1s worth 51-125 at the scales, LJ replying with 50-375, missing out agonisingly by just one fish!
