Safeguarding in Angling

Statement from Jamie Cook, CEO Angling Trust:

We have been made aware of a serious allegation relating to a member of staff working for the Angling Trust. We are shocked and horrified at the allegation, which we have referred to the police. We understand that the individual in question has been arrested and we have therefore immediately suspended them from their position with us. 

The individual works for the Trust in an administrative and marketing role. No allegation has been made that any of this activity is related to their work. However, we are fully committed to angling being a safe sport for all participants, which is why we have acted immediately and decisively.
