FREE: Have a go at fishing at the Fish O Mania Grand Final!
If you, your partner or kids are coming to Fish O Mania this year remember it’s completely FREE to enter and you can have a go at fishing FREE while you’re there too!
If you’ve wondered what all the fuss is about fishing, and why Fish O Mania attracts hundreds of spectators to watch anglers from all around the UK competing for £50,000 of prize money, here’s your chance to find out what gets people hooked on fishing…
The Angling Trust’s ‘Get Fishing’ Team are on site too with their Licensed Angling Coaches giving FREE top-class taster sessions to families, so you can give fishing a go. There’s no hassle either, all the tackle and bait you need is included along with a free fishing licence – just bring the kids along and get fishing.
We spoke to James Roche, Partnership Development Manager for the Angling Trust who is organising the free fishing and he told us “The Fish O Mania final is a fantastic family day out and a great opportunity to have a go at fishing while you’re there. Hayfield Lakes is a beautiful, well equipped venue and the ideal place to try fishing as well as watch the best anglers in the country battle it out on live TV for this amazing cash prize.”
Fish O Mania is at Hayfield Lakes on the outskirts of Doncaster and is free to attend. There’s a car parking fee of £5 on the day. Free spectator tickets can be booked through the Fish O Mania website at www.fishomania.net. Just turn up for the free fishing sessions anytime you get a break from the fishing action in the Grand Final. The Get Fishing sessions are funded by the Environment Agency from fishing licence income. You can get a licence before you go fishing at www.gov.uk/fishing-licences.
