Angling Trust
Festival of Carp set to introduce new anglers to our sport
The Carp Society will be running their hugely popular “Festival of Carp” event at Horseshoe Lake near Lechlade on the 8th of July this year. As well as a host of attractions for existing carp anglers there will also be Angling Trust coaches on site, aiming to introduce new anglers to our wonderful sport. New anglers will fish the small stock pool, which has a nice mix of fish species and all tackle and bait is supplied. Trained coaches will be on hand to ensure that everyone has the best possible instruction and all who takes part will qualify for a Get Fishing Bronze Award. So it doesn’t matter if you have never fished before or are maybe a returning angler who hasn’t fished for many years, the event is open to all, young and old.
Dean Asplin – Angling Trust Angling Development Manager (South) said:
“We are pleased to be supporting the 2023 Carp Society Open Day by offering fishing taster sessions. The Angling Trust ‘Get Fishing’ team is looking forward to introducing lots of families to the wonderful sport of fishing and starting them on their angling journey. We will be awarding all participants with the Bronze Get Fishing Award and linking them to further opportunities to develop their skills. ‘Catch’ you on the 8th July!”
The sessions will run between 9:30am – 5pm, to take part simply come along to the Festival of Carp at Horseshoe Lake and register at the Angling Trust gazebo, no need to pre-book. All necessary equipment will be supplied, just dress for the weather!
