NEW PHOTOS: Reel Education gets schools fishing! Pupils and teachers get into fishing in Greater Manchester
Following Reel Education days held at eight schools in the Greater Manchester area, Level 2 Angling coach and Reel Education Deliverer Chris Yates invited pupils to come and give fishing a go at Partridge Lakes.
Its clear to see everybody had a great day! Everybody caught fish and it was great to see the teachers joining in to try fishing too.
As well as the PE style angling games delivered in school using Shakespeare Fishing Tackle, schools are provided with all the learning materials for the day, including lesson plans, activities and exercises in Science, Maths, and Art. These resources are written by teachers for teachers, to provide angling-related lessons and hopefully inspire the next generation to get out in nature and give angling a go!
Once he has sparked an interest in the classroom, Chris – from FS Angling Network – gets pupils and teachers out on the bank for some fishing lessons. Reel Education raises awareness about the importance and value of our lakes, canals, rivers and seas and helps students understand the aquatic environment both in and around the water.
A huge well done and thank you to Chris Yates from FS Angling Network for the fantastic work he does in school and out on the bank. More information on what Chris does throughout his area can be found on Facebook.
