The Event Support Volunteer Award course is designed to support those aged 16 and upwards who wish to offer voluntary help at Get Fishing Award events: it also provides an introduction to step into coaching. (Please note that this course does not teach you how to fish, qualify you as a coach who can plan and lead angling activities, or provide Licensed Coach status or insurance.) You must be at least 16 years old by the first day of your selected course.
Angling Trust staff will send various information by email, and your tutor will email you a link to join the Zoom session. Please check any spam/junk folders in case your mailbox settings should divert these messages.
Angling Trust will also arrange for you to undertake the category of Enhanced DBS check which is a requirement for your role as an Event Support Volunteer. The DBS check is offered FREE in connection with this award. Guidance for completing the two actions that you need to do for your DBS check will also come by email, but this will be separate from the instructions and Zoom link supplied by your tutor.
Please note that DBS checking is NOT a requirement for undertaking this course or achieving certification, but relates to your deployment afterwards by a group, organisation or angling project. This DBS check is NOT appropriate for paid activities. In connection with your course and DBS checking you will be required to supply suitable documentation to confirm identity (guidance will be provided).
The fee paid below will also be deducted from the standard amount due for a Level 2 Angling Event Lead Coach course, should you later wish to progress further and become an Angling Coach.
