Virtual Fisheries Forum | Achieving a Progressive & Inclusive Rod Licence Service
In this Virtual Fisheries Forum, we welcome Jenny Yates & Tom Sherwood from the Environment Agency to discuss possible changes to the Rod Licence Service.
Having a rod fishing licence is a legal requirement for all anglers fishing in freshwater across England & Wales. Administered by the Environment Agency, 100% of fishing licence income is reinvested back into the sport; funding a range of works including Calverton Fish Farm, the National Fisheries Laboratory, and the Fisheries Improvement Programme to name a few. Further details about the activities made possible by fishing licences are available via the current Fisheries Annual Report.
To ensure this work can continue into future, the Environment Agency are seeking to improve the licencing service in a number of ways, with the objective of making sure anglers can access licences in the most straightforward fashion possible. In addition to future service changes, Jenny & Tom will also discuss the recent price increases and what to expect going forward.
This session is free to attend and open to all, and we encourage you notify any fishing friends or colleagues who may be interested. All input is valued, and we welcome attendance from anyone with thoughts or opinions on these changes.
