Get Fishing for Well-being approved partners, iCARP is a programme developed in Essex that is changing the lives of military veterans, 999 personnel, vulnerable young people and many more by helping them overcome the debilitating symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Depression, Anxiety and many other challenging conditions.

Mark chats about the help iCARP have had from the Angling Trust and Environment Agency, including a Get Fishing Fund grant. The Get Fishing Fund invests Fishing Licence income into projects that help get more people fishing more often.

Thanks to the Environment Agency, last year saw £200,000 of fishing licence income invested into 113 projects nationwide.

Everybody is welcome to come and try fishing during Summer into Fishing – whatever your age, ability or experience level and fishing offers the opportunity to escape the demands of a busy school,  work and home life by surrounding yourself in nature and wildlife away from a world of technology. It provides an opportunity for our minds to rest and reset and can be a meditative pastime that often happens in places where the wonders of nature are very evident. Going fishing is a perfect activity to incorporate in mental health and wellbeing support activity for kids and adults alike.
