Angling Trust Sea League

ANGLING TRUST SEA LEAGUE

Sponsored by Anyfish Anywhere and Asso

The Sea League is the UK’s most famous shore fishing competition. Launched in 1999 and known as the Penn Sea League, organisation of the event was taken over by Angling Trust in January 2024.

For 2025 we are delighted to welcome two new sponsors on board – Anyfish Anywhere and Asso – both household names in shore match angling.

On January 1, 2025, Anyfish Anywhere and Asso will begin the next era of the competition as the headline sponsors, helping the Angling Trust to shape the AT Sea League for future years.

We’re delighted to welcome Julian Shambrook (Anyfish Anywhere) and Richard Yates (Asso) and their teams in the support of the competition, alongside Sea League National Co-ordinator Ian Bowell. Huge thanks to Sea Angler Magazine for their media support too.

How the AT Sea League works

Points are awarded based on the number of anglers fishing an open match registered for the Angling Trust Sea League and go to the top 10 per cent of anglers, zone winners and heaviest fish in registered open events held throughout the UK.

League scoring runs from January to December each year and the top 45 best point scorers from the season are invited to go head-to-head in a one-off grand final match hosted the following season.

As part of the new rules for 2025, we’re opening up the competition to more anglers with the best Lady and Junior, alongside the season’s most improved angler, earning an invite into the final.

Along the way are some fabulous Asso and Anyfish Anywhere monthly prizes, and over £10,000 worth of tackle to be won at the end of each season.

How to register

Anglers who wish to take part in the competition from January 1, 2025, onwards will need to register with the Angling Trust in order to score points from the matches they fish. The competition will be open to ALL ANGLERS and membership of the Angling Trust will not be required to register.

If you registered in 2024 then you will not need to register for 2025.
