Game Angling Talent Pathway
England Talent Pathway - Game Angling
Young anglers aged 12 - 16 are invited to enter to programme. The programme will begin with a series of screening events throughout England. Events will be held on small still waters with anglers fishing from the bank. The screening process will give coaches an opportunity to observe and communicate with anglers. These screening events will contain two elements
- Fishing Assessment
- Casting Assessment
Following the completion of the screening events, coaches from Northern and Southern programmes will each select a maximum squad of 8 anglers to progress to the training phase of the programme. Anglers will enter a loch style training programme in preparation for Angling Trust England Youth Fly Fishing National Championship and Team England Qualifier.
All participants will receive individual feedback on their performance and written notification within 14 days of the final screening event regarding the outcome of the selection process.
